What is Ivermectin and Albendazole Oxide Powder?

Antiparasitic agent. Ivermectin is highly effective against both internal parasites and external arthropods. Its mechanism of action involves stimulating the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) from presynaptic neurons, which opens GABA-gated chloride channels. This increases the permeability of the nerve membrane to chloride ions. The chloride influx causes a slight depolarization of the postsynaptic resting potential, disrupting neuromuscular signal transmission and ultimately leading to paralysis and death of the parasite.

Albendazole oxide is the primary active metabolite of albendazole. It acts by binding to β-tubulin in nematodes, inhibiting its polymerization with α-tubulin to form microtubules, thereby disrupting essential cellular processes in susceptible parasites such as mitosis, protein assembly, and energy metabolism. The combination of ivermectin and albendazole oxide provides broad-spectrum anthelmintic efficacy.
