Robenidine HCl

Robenidine HCl
Details:
Robenidine hydrochloride is a highly effective anticoccidial drug. It demonstrates excellent efficacy against various Eimeria species in chickens, including E. tenella, E. necatrix, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. acervulina, and E. mitis. Notably, it remains effective against coccidia strains that have developed resistance to other anticoccidial drugs.

CAS No.: 25875-50-7

English alias: ROBENIDINE hydrochloride;Robenz;Nugatex;cycostat;Toraxine;khimroside;khimcoccid;Rasexinium;CYCOSTAT66G;chimcoccide

Robenidine hydrochloride is a white or pale yellow crystalline powder; odorless; color gradually darkens upon exposure to light.

Robenidine hydrochloride exhibits strong efficacy against various Eimeria species in chickens, including E. tenella, E. necatrix, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. acervulina, and E. mitis, and remains effective against coccidia strains resistant to other anticoccidial drugs. It primarily inhibits the reproduction of the first-generation schizonts and also affects the second-generation schizonts, with its peak activity occurring on the third day post-infection. Additionally, it is effective against various coccidia species in rabbits.

The mechanism of action of Robenidine hydrochloride involves disrupting the endoplasmic reticulum in the parasite's cytoplasm, interfering with protein metabolism, leading to swelling of the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, and inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production.

After oral administration in chickens, Robenidine hydrochloride is metabolized into nine metabolites, including *p*-chlorotoluene. Within 24 hours, 82% of the administered dose is excreted, and 99% is eliminated within six days.
