Physical and chemical properties

White to off white easy flowing powder. It is composed of calcium oxide and silicon dioxide in different proportions and can be divided into water and anhydrous. Insoluble in water, but can form gel with inorganic acid. The pH value of the 5% suspension is 8.4-10.2. The relative density is 2.9. Melting point: 1540 ℃


The food additive calcium silicate is obtained by reacting the newly matured lime with synthetic silica.

Application

Anti-caking agent

GB 2760-2014 stipulates that it can be used for milk powder (including sweetened milk powder) and cream powder and its preparation products, cheese and processed cheese and its analogues, cocoa products (including fat, powder, paste, paste, filling, etc. with cocoa as the main raw material), starch and starch products, sugar, table sweeteners, salt and salt substitute products, spices and powder, compound seasonings, solid drinks, yeast and yeast products, Appropriate use according to production needs.


FAO / who (1984) stipulates that 10g / kg milk powder and 1g / kg cream powder are only used for vending machines; Sucrose powder 15g / kg and glucose powder 15g / kg, used alone or in combination with other anti-caking agents, but there shall be no starch. 


It can also be used for 5% baking powder and 2% table salt. FDA, § 182.2227 (2000) stipulates that the anti-caking agent of table salt and various foods is 2%, and the fermentation powder is 5% (both are mass fractions). EEC (1990) is applicable to table salt (including ginger salt, onion salt), candy, rice, and gum sugar.
