Description
This product is a clear liquid, colorless to pale yellow.
Pharmacological Action
This product has a direct relaxing effect on bronchial smooth muscle. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting phosphodiesterase, slowing the hydrolysis of cAMP, increasing the cAMP/cGMP ratio in tissues, suppressing the release of allergic mediators such as histamine and slow‑reacting substances, and promoting the release of catecholamines. This leads to relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle, relieves bronchospasm, reduces congestion and edema of the bronchial mucosa, and thus exerts an anti‑asthmatic effect. In addition, this product has mild cardiotonic and diuretic actions.
Action and Use
Antiasthmatic agent. It relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, relieves asthma symptoms, and also has vasodilator and diuretic effects.
Dosage and Administration
Intramuscular or intravenous injection: single dose - horses, cattle 4–8 ml; sheep, pigs 1–2 ml; dogs 0.2–0.4 ml.
Adverse Reactions
May cause central nervous system excitation.
Precautions
(1) Use with caution in animals with hepatic insufficiency or heart failure.
(2) When given intravenously or by intravenous infusion, excessive dosage, too high concentration, or too rapid administration may strongly excite the heart and central nervous system. Therefore, the product should be diluted before injection and the rate and dosage should be carefully controlled.
(3) The injection solution is strongly alkaline and may cause local redness, swelling, and pain; it should be administered by deep intramuscular injection.
