Physical and chemical properties
Tert-butyl hydroquinone is a white powdery crystal with a special smell. Its melting point is 126.5 ~ 128.5 ℃ and its boiling point is 300 ℃. It is easily soluble in ethanol, acetic acid, and ether, soluble in animal and vegetable oils, and slightly soluble in water (1g / 100ml). It does not form colored substances with iron and copper ions, but it will be pink under light or alkaline conditions.

Application
Antioxidants
As a food antioxidant, tert butyl hydroquinone can be used in basically water-free fats and oils, with a maximum dosage of 0.2g/kg; Tert butyl hydroquinone can be used in fat, oil and emulsified fat products, cooked nuts and seeds, canned nuts and seeds, fried flour products, instant rice flour products, biscuits, moon cakes, baked food stuffing and surface hanging pulp, puffed food, cured meat products (such as bacon, cured meat, salted duck, Chinese ham, sausage), air drying, drying, pressing and other aquatic products, The maximum dosage is 0.2g/kg.
