Physical and chemical properties
Red powder or particle, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol.
Diazotized 4-amino naphthalene sulfonic acid and 4-hydroxynaphthalene sulfonic acid were prepared by chemical method.
Toxicological basis
①ADI：0～4mg/kg（BW）（FAO/WHO，1994）.
② LD50: the acute oral dose of mice is more than 10g / kg (BW).
③ Ames test: no mutagenic effect.
④ Micronucleus test: no mutagenic effect on mammalian cell chromosomes was found.
Application
Colorant.
GB 2760-2014 stipulates that it can be used for frozen drinks (except 03.04 edible ice), cocoa products, chocolate and chocolate products (including chocolate and products instead of cocoa butter), candy, baked food filling, and surface hanging slurry (only biscuit sandwich), and the maximum dosage is 0.05g/kg.
Acid red has good water solubility, strong dyeing power, good light resistance in natural red pigment, purplish-red in neutral products, and red in acidic products. It is suitable for red vinegar. It has a good effect on acidic products such as beverages, prepared wine, and wine.
