Physical and chemical properties
cream to brownish yellow, flake or waxy solid, slightly smelly and soft taste. It can be dispersed in petroleum ether, mineral oil, vegetable oil, acetone, and dioxane, insoluble in toluene, ether, carbon tetrachloride, and ethyl acetate, and insoluble in water, methanol, and ethanol. The HLB value is about 2.1. Sorbitol and stearic acid were prepared by direct heating esterification in the presence of a catalyst; sorbitol is dehydrated into sorbitol anhydride in advance, decolorized and refined, and then cased with stearic acid. According to the ratio of sorbitol and stearic acid, monoester, diester or triester can be prepared.

Application
Emulsifier
