Description

This product is a clear liquid, pale yellow to yellow.

Pharmacological Action

Aminoglycoside antibacterial agent. Apramycin has antibacterial activity against a variety of Gram‑negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas spp., Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasteurella spp., Serpula hyodysenteriae, Bordetella bronchiseptica, as well as against Staphylococcus spp. and Mycoplasma spp. The unique chemical structure of apramycin resists inactivation by various plasmid‑encoded inactivating enzymes; therefore, Gram‑negative bacteria are less likely to develop resistance to it, and there is no cross‑resistance with other aminoglycosides caused by chromosomal mutations.
