Description
This product is a clear liquid, colorless or almost colorless.
Pharmacological Action
Etamsylate increases the number of platelets, enhances their aggregation and adhesion, promotes the release of thromboplastic substances from platelets, shortens clotting time, and accelerates clot retraction. In addition, it increases capillary resistance, reduces capillary permeability, and decreases exudation of blood. Its hemostatic effect is rapid; after intravenous injection, the peak effect is reached within 1 hour and the effect lasts for 4–6 hours.
Action and Use
Hemostatic agent. Mainly used for the prevention and control of internal bleeding, epistaxis, and surgical bleeding.
Dosage and Administration
Intramuscular or intravenous injection: single dose - horses, cattle 10–20 ml; sheep, pigs 2–4 ml.
Adverse Reactions
No adverse reactions have been observed when used according to the prescribed dosage and administration.
Precautions
To prevent bleeding during surgery, the drug should be administered 15–30 minutes before the operation.
Withdrawal Period
No withdrawal period required.
