Physical and chemical properties
Yellow to orange oily liquid with slight special odor and slight bitterness. Soluble in water, ethanol, ethyl acetate, methanol, and dioxane, insoluble in mineral oil and solvent oil. However, when it interacts with salicylic acid, tannic acid, resorcinol, and thymol, it will lose its emulsifying property. It is obtained by condensation of the product of esterification of sorbitol and lauric acid with ethylene oxide with a molar ratio of 1 ∶ 20.

Application
Emulsifier, defoamer and stabilizer
