Physical and chemical properties
White crystalline particles and powders, odorless, tasteless, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in ether. The pH value of 2% aqueous solution is 4.7, and it is stable at normal temperature. At 100 ℃, the crystal water begins to volatilize, and at 120 ℃, it loses the crystal water and becomes anhydrous.
It has hygroscopicity, and the melting point is 240 ℃ (decomposition). Edta-2na has a wide range of coordination properties and can form stable chelates with almost all metal ions. Most of the chelates are charged, so they can be dissolved in water and react quickly. It is prepared by reacting ethylenediamine with monochloroacetic acid, then reacting with formaldehyde and sodium cyanide, and then neutralizing with sodium carbonate; Or by reaction of EDTA with sodium hydroxide and dehydration, filtration and neutralization.

Application
Stabilizer, coagulant, antioxidant and antiseptic
GB 2760-2014 stipulates that the maximum consumption of preserved fruits (only for sweet potato shops), pickled vegetables, canned vegetables, canned nuts and seeds, and canned grains is 0.25g/kg; Jam, vegetable paste (sauce), except tomato sauce, the maximum dosage is 0.07g/kg; Compound seasoning, maximum dosage 0.075g/kg; For beverages (except 14.01 packaged drinking water), the maximum consumption is 0.03g/kg.
This product can chelate with iron, copper, calcium, magnesium and other multivalent ions to form stable water-soluble complexes, and can chelate with radioactive substances such as yttrium, zirconium and radium.
In addition, this product also has antioxidant effect and has important practical value. In practical application, it is used to prevent discoloration, deterioration, turbidity and oxidation loss of vitamin C caused by metal. This product has synergistic effect with phosphate. As a water treatment agent, it can prevent the adverse effects of calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese and other metal ions in the water.
