Product Overview

Technical briefing and clinical profile of Dinitolmide (Zoalene) feed-grade premix.

Dinitolmide 25% Premix (also commercially recognized worldwide as Zoalene, 3,5-dinitro-o-toluamide) is an established, specialized synthetic dinitrobenzamide anticoccidial feed additive manufactured by Well Sunshine Group. Formulated as a highly uniform, free-flowing micronized premix containing 250 g of dinitolmide per kilogram, it delivers broad-spectrum chemotherapeutic prevention and control against destructive cecal (Eimeria tenella) and intestinal (E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunetti) coccidiosis across domestic chickens, replacement pullets, layer breeders, turkeys, and rabbits.

The singular pharmacological superiority of Dinitolmide lies in its unique immunity-sparing profile. At standard recommended feeding dosages (125 ppm active substance), Dinitolmide arrests virulent parasitic asexual multiplication on the critical third day of infection while permitting the host immune system sufficient early antigen exposure to synthesize durable, natural flock immunity. Consequently, it represents the global industry benchmark anticoccidial program for long-lived poultry flocks, including egg-laying replacement pullets and broiler breeders.

Key Pharmacological Advantages & Commercial Values

Why veterinary integrators and feed mill formulators rely on Dinitolmide 25% Premix for disease control.

Immunity-Preserving Action

Permits controlled exposure to early coccidial antigens, fostering robust, lifelong active flock immunity in replacement pullets and breeding stock without causing mucosal ulceration.

Day-3 Multiplication Arrest

Delivers peak antiparasitic inhibition precisely at Day 3 post-infection, aborting massive 2nd-generation schizont proliferation and preventing devastating intestinal hemorrhages.

Oocyst Sporulation Suppression

Disrupts oocyst wall formation and blocks cytoplasmic sporoblast differentiation, drastically diminishing environmental shedding and breaking the horizontal re-infection cycle.

Rapid Depuration & Safety

Rapidly metabolized into polar ANOT conjugates; muscle tissue residues plummet below 100 μg/kg within 24 hours of cessation, with an ultra-short 3-day chicken withdrawal period.

Mode of Action (MOA) & Biological Dynamics

Four-stage biological sequence of Dinitolmide anticoccidial dynamics in vivo.

1

Ingestion & Dispersion

Micro-fine premix particles disperse uniformly across chyme, ensuring continuous therapeutic coverage along the intestinal and cecal mucosa.

2

Day-3 Schizogony Arrest

Exerts targeted antiparasitic activity at the peak stage of infection (Day 3), arresting 2nd-generation schizont maturation before mucosal sloughing occurs.

3

Sporulation Inhibition

Inhibits subsequent gametogony and prevents excreted unsporulated oocysts from developing into infective sporocysts within farm litter bedding.

4

Metabolic Clearance

Undergoes rapid hepatic reduction to polar metabolite 3-amino-5-nitro-o-toluamide (ANOT) followed by prompt renal excretion without tissue accumulation.

Recommended Species Dosages & Mixing Protocols

Strict inclusion guidelines per Metric Ton of complete feed for target animal categories.

Replacement Pullets & Breeders

500 g / Metric Ton Feed

Provides 125 ppm active Dinitolmide. Administer continuously in complete feed from day-old up to 12–14 weeks of age to establish robust, natural herd immunity.

Commercial Meat Broilers & Turkeys

500 g / Metric Ton Feed

Provides 125 ppm active Dinitolmide. Feed continuously from chick placement until 3 days prior to slaughter. Do not discontinue prematurely to prevent relapse.

Stepwise Industrial Pre-Dilution

1 : 10 Pre-Blend Ratio

Thoroughly pre-mix 500 g Dinitolmide 25% Premix with 10–20 kg of feed carrier (cornmeal or wheat middlings) before discharging into the main batch mixer.

Clinical Precautions, Regulatory Warnings & Storage

Essential operational requirements for safe veterinary administration.

  • Laying Period Contraindication: Strictly prohibited in commercial laying hens during egg production when eggs are designated for human consumption.
  • Continuous Administration in Broilers: Premature withdrawal before the prescribed 3-day pre-slaughter interval frequently causes coccidiosis recrudescence. Maintain unbroken medication.
  • Micro-Fine Particle Requirement: The anticoccidial potency is intrinsically governed by particle fineness; Well Sunshine utilizes proprietary micronization to ensure maximum mucosal bioavailability.
  • Upper Dosage Threshold: Adding dosages exceeding 250 mg/kg active Dinitolmide (>1,000 g/MT premix) continuously for more than 15 consecutive days may suppress chick body weight gain.
  • Withdrawal Period & Storage: Chickens: 3 days. Preserve in tightly sealed original packaging in a cool, dark, dry storage warehouse (≤ 25°C). Shelf life: 24 months.

Compatibility & Synergistic Feed Programs

Strategic biosecurity and rotation architectures combining Well Sunshine specialized veterinary additives.

Shuttle Partner

Shuttle Program with Clopidol

Pair with Clopidol 25% Premix in starter/grower shuttle programs. Clopidol attacks sporozoites at Day 1, while Dinitolmide selectively inhibits Day-3 schizonts, fostering complete immunity without resistance development.

Rotation Protocol

Rotation with Triazines & Carbanilides

Rotate seasonally with Diclazuril 0.5% Premix or Nicarbazine 25% Premix to break chemoresistance cycles in intensive industrial poultry complexes.

Gut Health Synergy

Necrotic Enteritis Control with Enramycin

Combine with Enramycin 8% Premix. Controlling subclinical coccidial intestinal mucosal erosion removes the primary trigger for Clostridium perfringens proliferation and secondary necrotic enteritis.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Technical answers to common commercial formulation and biosecurity inquiries.

Q1: Why is Dinitolmide 25% Premix universally favored for replacement pullets and layer breeders?

Unlike aggressive total-kill coccidiocides that completely eliminate parasite presence and leave birds immunologically vulnerable upon transfer to layer houses, Dinitolmide suppresses clinical disease while permitting host antigen recognition. This allows birds to build long-term active immunity against local Eimeria field strains.

Q2: How does the Day-3 peak anticoccidial action window protect flock health?

In the coccidial life cycle, day 3 marks the explosive asexual multiplication into 2nd-generation schizonts that erode gut capillaries. Dinitolmide arrests schizont development precisely at this phase, preventing severe blood loss and intestinal wall necrosis.

Q3: What happens if Dinitolmide is withdrawn prematurely in broiler operations?

In commercial broilers, residual dormant coccidia or ingested litter oocysts can undergo rapid recrudescence if medication is stopped before the pre-slaughter withdrawal period. Continuous inclusion until 3 days prior to slaughter is essential for uninterrupted gut protection.

Q4: What is the tissue residue safety profile and withdrawal period for Dinitolmide?

Dinitolmide is rapidly metabolized into harmless polar ANOT metabolites. Edible muscle residues plunge below 100 μg/kg within 24 hours of cessation. A withdrawal period of just 3 days in chickens ensures total food safety compliance before slaughter.
