This product is a white or off-white powder.
Pharmacological Action
Antibiotic agent. This product exhibits antibacterial activity against various Gram-negative bacteria (e.g., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella, Salmonella, etc.) and Staphylococcus aureus (including β-lactamase-producing strains). Most Streptococcus (e.g., Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis, etc.), anaerobic bacteria (Bacteroides or Clostridium species), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Rickettsia, and fungi are resistant to this agent.
Action and Use
Aminoglycoside antibiotic. Used for the treatment of infections in chickens caused by susceptible Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.
Dosage and Administration
Based on the product. For medicated drinking water: Add 2g per liter of water for chickens. Administer for 3–5 consecutive days.
Adverse Reactions
May cause significant renal damage.
Precautions
(1) Contraindicated in laying hens during the egg-laying period.
(2) Concurrent use with cephalosporins may potentiate nephrotoxicity.
Withdrawal Period
Chickens: 28 days.
