What is Robenidine Hydrochloride Tablets?

This product demonstrates high efficacy against Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. acervulina, and E. mitis in chickens, and remains effective against coccidia strains resistant to other anticoccidial agents. It primarily inhibits the development of first-generation schizonts, with additional activity against second-generation schizonts. Its peak activity occurs on day 3 post-infection. It is also effective against various Eimeria species in rabbits. The mechanism of action involves disruption of the endoplasmic reticulum in the parasite cytoplasm, interfering with protein metabolism and causing swelling of the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, while inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production. Coccidia can readily develop resistance to this agent.

Following oral administration in chickens, the drug is metabolized into nine metabolites, including p-chlorotoluene. Within 24 hours after a single dose, 82% of the administered dose is excreted, reaching 99% excretion after 6 days.
