What is Oxfendazole Tablets?

This product contains oxfendazole, which is the sulfoxide metabolite of fenbendazole formed in vivo. Its mechanism of action involves binding to tubulin in nematodes to exert anthelmintic effects. Its antiparasitic spectrum is not as broad as that of albendazole, but its potency is slightly stronger.

Unlike most other benzimidazole drugs, oxfendazole is relatively well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The elimination half-lives in sheep and goats are 7.5 hours and 5.25 hours, respectively. After absorption, oxfendazole is metabolized to fenbendazole sulfone, which still retains anthelmintic activity.
